Healthier Mini Crumbl-Inspired Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • Author: maya
  • Total Time: 23-25 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 24 mini cookies

Description

Craving a Crumbl cookie but watching your waistline? These mini chocolate chip cookies are inspired by Crumbl’s flavors but made with healthier ingredients and a smaller serving size, so you can indulge guilt-free!

Ingredients

    • 1 cup (120g) whole wheat pastry flour

    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

    • 1/4 teaspoon salt

    • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened

    • 1/4 cup (50g) packed light brown sugar

    • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar

    • 1 large egg

    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (or dark chocolate chips for less sugar)

Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

    3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

    4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.

    5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

    6. Stir in the chocolate chips.

    7. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie. (For truly mini cookies, use rounded teaspoons.)

    8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.

    9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Variations: Add chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans) for extra flavor and texture. Sprinkle sea salt on top of the cookies before baking for a sweet and salty treat.

Tips: For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them. Ensure butter is properly softened for easy creaming.

Allergies: Contains wheat, eggs, and dairy. For a dairy-free version, use vegan butter and dairy-free chocolate chips. Check all ingredient labels to prevent cross-contamination.

Taste Adjustments: Reduce sugar by 1-2 tablespoons for a less sweet cookie. Increase vanilla extract for a stronger vanilla flavor.
